IW Iron Workers Local Unions
Each Local union holds jurisdiction over a defined geographic territory and dispatches its members to the industrial, institutional, and military facilities within that territory. For asbestos-exposure research, the Local's dispatch and membership records often document the jobsites a member worked over a career. Browse the Locals documented on this archive below — filter by state or search by Local number or city.

Not sure which Local you belong to?
Your dispatch hall location, apprenticeship program, union book, health & welfare plan administrator, or the dues-deduction line on an old pay stub will identify your Local. Once you know the number, the Local's business office can produce dispatch records — foundational evidence for an asbestos claim documenting every jobsite you were sent to and when.
